I loved this Cyberpunk thriller. It's fast-paced and exciting. Confusing in all the right places. Leaves you wanting more, while still answering most of your questions. Coorlim did great job on this, and I look forward to more in the series.Product details

Erica comes to in a world that has passed her by. with nothing but her government issued basics and a place no one wants to call home, she wants to find out who and why her mind has been wiped. where has she been for the past ten years and when did she learn to shoot a gun? why does someone want to kill her?
Cold Reboot is suspenseful and fascinating in it's near future details. There is a lot of great world building going on, and I'm interested to see where this story is going. Read if you like cyberpunk, near future, lost memory, spy and operative thrillers.
I like the author's Galvanic Century books and so I was hopeful that this first book "Cold Reboot" in a new series (Shadow Decade) would be good. My hope was more than justified. This book is sensational. The Galvanic Century books develop gradually but this book grabs you by the throat and drags you into a street fight. There is a premium on action and that makes perfect sense for a protagonist who is missing 10 years of her life. It's tough to be introspective about a blank past while struggling to survive in world that has changed so much. Michael Coorlim's 2025 is well thought out and a logical progression from current trends. I am anxious to read the next book in the series. Coorlim is a major talent and I think Hollywood should be optioning this book for feature film. It would be hit. My advice to anyone who likes mystery/adventure novels is get this book ASAP.
I enjoy Michael Coorlim's Steampunk thrillers, so when I had an opportunity to preview his latest book Cold Reboot I jumped at the chance. My only mistake was downloading and opening the book at work. What started as an innocent nibble just to see what it was like became an embarrassing binge of "just a few more pages", creative hiding of my kindle and almost missed meetings.
The world Michael has created in Cold Reboot is only ten years in the future and days after I finished the book, I'm still debating with myself whether that was a brilliant move on the author's part or the biggest mistake since buying BetaMax.
The plight of the protagonist, Erica- waking up from a short-term coma with no memory of the past ten years, an inexplicable new set of skills/superior physical conditioning and someone out to kill her, sets the stage for what promises to be an interesting new series from this experienced writer. I for one can't wait for the next book with more answers and glimpses into this all too likely future world which I can't stop thinking about. ( Just don't tell my boss.)
